for me to put my pretty things in.

My friend just bought an awesome house with a dated kitchen that we need to update with not a ton of money.  It's from the 1920's and he's into vintage look, yet modern - or  i've convinced him that he's into that, because that's what i'm into.  The house closes tomorrow and then i can take pics, but being obsessed with the task i've already found some tears to show him.

His kitchen already has subway tiles, so we could just replace the shelving and countertops and have it be affordable-ish.

This one above is pretty, but too country.

This one is pretty beautiful.  It feels old and new at the same time.

Ah, Amy Nuensinger's kitchen.  Perfection.  All while marble, open shelving, a huge open layout,  and floor to high high ceiling glass doors that opens to an overgrown patio with canyon views.

These photos were taken by Amy, obviously.  And she designed the house, because she is super woman, apparently.

Serious question for you:
I need to find a contractor for my friend to do the work that he needs done.  Does anybody know anybody in LA that they feel good about recommending?

  1. http://bit.ly/aUHWas Read my blog post. Since you were practicing self constraint I couldn't. :-)

As far as good contractors in Los Angeles. Call Bradco Kitchens & Baths 6011 West Pico Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90035-2624 (323) 937-6785‎

They're awesome and this is coming from a girl that can do most construction/contracting work herself.

My friend had her ENTIRE kitchen, master bath, small bath, paint, etc all done a little over six months ago and couldn't be happier with the results. They still love the contractor and most people want to bury their contractors under the work they've done. :-D HAHA

Since you're already doing the design consultation it will be easy for them. The reason I know they are great is cause when she had the first remodel done two years ago she was madder than a mule chewing on bumblebees about the way things went with poor workmanship and them taking forever to complete the remodel. Gun-shy obviously they were hesitant & got a billion quotes.

They paid less for these guys and it was cheaper than the first remodel and the materials are a lot nicer and the installation is wonderful. I'll try to find some photos.

I remember a guy named Eli was one of the contractors from the company. I only remember because that is my son's name. I don't know the rest of their names. Hope this helps.

  3. Don't know if you still need a contractor, but I have a super amazing one. Trounce bros. Enterprises. Talk to Tyler, his number is 714.614.4886. They do residential, commercial, restaurants, and they have done some hotels (the Newport Marriott). They can do anything that you need done.
